Since 1982
One bench, one loupe,
four decades
From a single workbench off Pathergatti to a diamond house on St. John's Road — the craft has never left the family's hands.
The beginning
A trade learned at the elbow
Hyderabad has traded in stones since the Golconda mines fed the Nizams' treasury. Our founder learned the trade the old way — sitting beside a master setter in the lanes behind Charminar, sorting melee by eye before he was allowed to touch a torch.
Linga Chandra Stones opened in 1982 with one bench, one loupe and a rule that has survived every expansion since: never sell a stone you would not set for your own daughter.
Four decades on, we still sketch every commission by hand, still buy centre stones on the tray rather than off a list, and still finish each piece under magnification before it is allowed into a box.

Milestones
How the house grew
The first bench
A single workbench near Pathergatti, repairing and remaking gold for families in the old city.
Into diamonds
The second generation trains in diamond grading and the house begins buying certified centre stones directly.
St. John's Road
The showroom moves to St. John's Road, Secunderabad, with a dedicated viewing room and daylight-balanced grading lamps.
The atelier
Casting, setting and polishing brought fully in-house, so a commission never leaves the building.
How we work
Four rules we do not bend
Every centre stone is certified. Above 0.30 ct, a GIA or IGI report comes with the piece — no exceptions, no "house grading".
Weight and rate are written down first. Whether you are buying, exchanging or selling, the numbers go on paper before anything is agreed.
Lab-grown is labelled lab-grown. On the tag, on the bill, and out loud.
Aftercare is free, for life. Cleaning, polishing and prong checks — including on pieces you did not buy from us.

Bring your idea, or just
come and look
Appointments are free and unhurried. We will set out a tray, hand you a loupe, and explain every certificate before anything is decided.
